Bigger Tax Refunds in 2026, But You May Have to Wait

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act expanded the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit, and many households will see larger refunds on their 2025 returns. A reduced IRS workforce and the statutory PATH Act hold, however, mean those refunds will arrive more slowly than in prior years.
